Checkout.com required additional support to prepare complex balance sheet accounts for audit review and establish sustainable finance processes for future reporting periods. The assignment formed part of a wider finance improvement programme following significant business growth.

Working alongside a Grant Thornton contractor team, my primary focus was the reconciliation and remediation of key balance sheet accounts including accrued income, merchant creditors and scheme debtors. This required detailed investigation, analysis and collaboration across finance teams.

The project successfully delivered audit-ready balance sheet reconciliations and established documented procedures for the permanent finance team. These improvements strengthened control environments, improved reporting accuracy and supported a positive audit outcome.
